Five Questions to ask yourself while reading:

Jesus remains the most fascinating character in all of human history. Yet for disciples, He is much more than an historical figure. He is our Savior, the Messiah, the very Son of God. Yet even more than that must still be said. For the disciple He is our model, the template, of what we want to be. 1 John 2:6 tells us “the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” We want to become like Christ. This is the essence of Christianity.

Yet how can we become like Jesus if we don’t know what Jesus was like? In 2021 we will spend the year with Jesus. We will watch Him, listen to Him, and observe Him with the goal of learning how to be like Christ. Every day, after that day’s reading, make certain you ask yourself “How can I be more Christ-like from what I’ve read?” Answering that question will be the key to making our Bible reading in 2021 effective and practical.

A final note: this reading plan was developed by Jacob Hudgins for the Fairview church of Christ in Little Rock, Arkansas. We gratefully acknowledge his hard work and thank him for generously sharing it with us this year.
